Abstract
This study estimated the levels of lipids and glucose in cerebrospinal fluid(CSF) from children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia(ALL) and hydrocephalus disease. The study was conducted on (458) CSF, (176) of them have ALL, (140) have hydrocephalus and (142) were healthy as the control group from both sexes. The age of children ranged from 1-15 years were divided into three subgroups according to age and sex, While the age of infants with hydrocephalus ranged from 1-14 months for both sexes. The results showed there was a significant decrease in cholesterol and glucose levels, but increased in triglyceride and very low-density lipoprotein(VLDL) levels for all subgroups in both sexes for ALL and hydrocephalus patients.
