Abstract

Omega zeolite Nano crystal is synthesized hydrothermally from a sodium aluminosilicate solution with a 5.96 Na2O/Al2O3 moler ratio for 4-7 days at 100oC using 0.36, 0.48, and 0.61 TMA-OH /Al2O3 moler ratios Tetramethylammonium hydroxide (TMA-OH) adopted. The physical properties of nanosized omega zeolite crystals are characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDXS). As expected, the size of synthesized omega zeolite crystals can be controlled from 7 nm to 10 μm. It is found that the preparation solution of a homogeneous aluminosilicate contains TMA-OH followed by the formation of an aluminosilicate hard gel by adjusting the initial composition, for example, TMA-OH /Al2O3 mole ratios, is critical for synthesis Nano crystal aggregates pure omega zeolite.
