Elham is a lecturer in the Department of English, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. She became a staff member of Koya University in 2006. Prior to this, she taught English language courses at the Democracy Developing Organisation/ Sulaimani Office, and also worked as a consecutive translator in 2003. She gained BA In English Language and Literature from College of Languages, Sulaimani University, MA in English language and Linguistics from College of Languages, Koya University in 2006, and PhD. In Discourse Analysis from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Koya University in 2013. She was the rapporteur of the Translation Department, College of Languages, Koya University in 2007-2009. She is a member of the scientific committee of the English Department. She is also the consultant and course director of the AIELC for ILETS preparation and an active member of the International Human Rights Organisation/ Koya Office. Her research interests are Discourse Analysis, Media and Political Discourse, Pragmatics, Contrastive Linguistics, Translation and Applied Linguistics.
