Call for Papers

2018 INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON PURE AND APPLIED SCIENCE
Koya University, Kurdistan Region, Iraq
23-24 April 2018
doi: 10.14500/icpas2018

The 2018 International Conference on Pure and Applied Science (ICPAS 2008) invites all submissions in the fields of Pure and applied sciences.

Completed research papers: are full-length papers documenting the results of finished research projects. Accepted completed research papers will be presented at ICPAS 2018, and published in the conference online/hardcopy proceedings. A DOI will be assigned for each presented/published paper.

ICPAS Keynote Speakers

Prof. Sabah Jassim

Sabah Jassim has a B.Sc. and an M.Sc. from Baghdad University and a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Wales. He is Professor of Mathematics. He is also a visiting lecturer at City University, London, and Fachhochschule Wedel, Germany. He is Professor of Mathematics and Computation and teaches various courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level. These include Image Processing, Mathematics and Algorithms. He also supervises research students in the areas of Biometrics – Authentication, Biomedical Image Analysis and Dynamic Encryption.

Assoc. Prof. Francis Burns

Francis Burns earned his B.S. in Entomology and M.A. in Science Education from Ohio State University (United States), and then earned his Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Toledo (United States). Subsequently, he taught analytical chemistry (second-year and fourth-year) and general chemistry (first-year) at Grand Valley State University and Ferris State University in the United States. Francis Burns and his wife started to travel internationally, attending International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) conferences in Turin (Italy) and Taipei (Taiwan). He traveled to Kurdistan to teach analytical chemistry at the University of Koya (2011 to 2012). In addition, he analyzed oil well waste for mercury. He returned to America after the academic year, but stayed in contact with Kurdish colleagues. Since returning to America, he taught chemistry at Diné College, which is a Native American college. Francis Burns and his students engaged in an atmospheric chemistry project funded by NASA. He is currently teaching at the University of South Carolina, Salkehatchie. Francis Burns has just started an environmental mercury research program to study mercury contamination in the Ace Basin watershed. Francis Burns has continued his global travels, including the 2nd African Conference on Research in Chemical Education South Africa held at the University of Venda (South Africa). He welcomes the opportunity to return to Kurdistan and meet more scholars from this area of the world.

Author Guidelines

paper Preparation:

Submitting your manuscript will be based on the ICPAS template (MS-Word). Maximum number of pages is 5.

Units of Measurement:

Units of measurement should be presented simply and concisely using System International (SI) units.

Abstract:

The manuscript should contain an abstract. The abstract should be self-contained and citation-free and should not exceed 200 words.

Introduction:

This section should be succinct, with no subheadings.

Materials and Methods:

This part should contain sufficient detail so that all procedures can be repeated. It can be divided into subsections if several methods are described.

Results and Discussion:

This section may each be divided by subheadings or may be combined.

Conclusions:

This should clearly explain the main conclusions of the work highlighting its importance and relevance.

Acknowledgements:

All acknowledgments (if any) should be included at the very end of the paper before the references and may include supporting grants, presentations, and so forth.

References:

ICPAS 2018 follows IEEE citation and Referencing style.

Author Biography:

Authors now have the option to publish a biography together with the paper, with information such as MD/PhD degree, past and present positions, research interests, awards, etc. This increases the profile of the authors and is well received by international readers.

Preparation of Figures:

Upon submission of an article, authors are supposed to include all figures and tables in the file of the manuscript. Figures should be supplied as a bitmap format (TIF, GIF, JPEG, etc.). Bitmap images should be of 300 dpi resolution at least unless the resolution is intentionally set to a lower level for scientific reasons. If a bitmap image has labels, the image and labels should be embedded in separate layers.

Preparation of Tables:

Tables should be cited consecutively in the text. Every table must have a descriptive title and if numerical measurements are given, the units should be included in the column heading. Vertical rules should not be used.

Equations:

Equations should be numbered consecutively.

English Grammar:

To save the time of our reviewers, authors are encouraged to use grammar check software or find the help of a native speaker to proofread the manuscript before submission.

Original Contribution:

The originality of the scientific contribution should be clearly stated in the manuscript.

Plagiarism:

We use plagiarism detection.; According to Oxford online dictionary, Plagiarism means the practice of taking someone else’s work or ideas and passing them off as one’s own. For more information about plagiarism, type of plagiarism and what constitutes plagiarism, kindly see the Koya University Referencing System. The Editorial Board of ICPAS will check any case of plagiarism on its own merits. If the plagiarism is detected, either by the editor or peer reviewer at any stage before publication of the manuscript - before or after  acceptance, during editing or at page proof stage, we will alert the author(s), asking him/her to either rewrite the text or quote the text exactly and to cite the original text. If at least 15% of the original submission is plagiarised, ICPAS has the right to reject the manuscript.
