Abstract
This research will investigate the role of the kindergarten teachers in promoting concepts of peace among students of kindergartens in the West Bank. This research comes in light of the urgent need to enhance concepts of peace, especially in light of ongoing conflicts in Palestine. This research aims to shed light on the reality of peace education in early childhood education in Palestine, and will focus on the vast possibilities of creating an early childhood educational framework based on peace education. In this paper, I will discuss early childhood education within a peace education framework, using the peace education approach as the main guide while incorporating elements from other peace education curricula. What is the role of kindergarten in promoting peace concepts among kindergarten students in Palestine?
Sub-questions:
A. How do kindergarten teachers define peace and peace education?
B. To which extent does the kindergarten curriculum contain peace building?
C. To which extent do kindergarten teachers recognize and adopt peace concepts in practice?
D. To which extent do children recognize and define differences and dividers?
According to the objectives, sequential explanatory mix- methods will be used for this
research study. The research population includes all public and private kindergarten teachers in the West Bank, numbering 430 teachers in government Kindergarten and 4300 in private.
