Abstract

Education plays a critical role in peacebuilding, serving as both a preventive measure against conflict and a tool for post-conflict recovery. This article explores the multifaceted relationship between education and peacebuilding, examining how educational policies and practices can contribute to sustainable peace in societies recovering from conflict. The study determines the extent to which the curricula designs contribute to peacebuilding initiatives within the city of Kirkuk. The curriculum may be designed with a focus on the notion that fostering a sense of inner tranquility and peace among students can be achieved through the educational process. The study could help people better understand how education can help build peace in the city of Kirkuk. Because of this, the three Deduction Directorates could use the results to put more resources and time into moving peacebuilding projects forward. The goal of this study is to find out how much the Kurdish, Arabic, and Turkish Education Directorates' curriculum ideas help with efforts to build peace in the city. The curriculum can be based on the idea that students can develop a feeling of inner peace and tranquillity through their education. The study will use a qualitative way to collect and look at its data. There is historical information in the eleventh-grade history book that the researcher will look at in order to answer the research question. A big part of the project's theater structure can be based on the Social Semiotic Theory. The researchers will use the idea put forward by van Leeuwen, T. (2008) to narrow down their choices even more. Consolidating three distinct directorates inside a single city is a double-edged sword. Conversely, while it enhances the feeling of inclusion within each ethnic group, it also creates several obstacles among the pupils of different ethnicities, therefore complicating the reconciliation process.
